Injury Assessment and Rehabilitation

The Certified Athletic Therapist at Dunbar Sports Rehabilitation specializes in the assessment and rehabilitation of injuries involving muscles, joints and nerves. This includes:

  • Traumatic injuries (such as strains and sprains occurring from falls and collisions);
  • Overuse injuries (such as tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and tennis elbow);
  • Nerve conditions (such as sciatica and carpal tunnel syndrome);
  • Back and neck pain; and
  • General maintenance

The cost for appointments is as follows:

  • Initial assessments (60 minutes): $75
  • Follow up treatments (30 minutes): $55
  • 60 minute treatments are available for $75 if you have more than one body part that you would like treated.
  • Prices include GST.

Dunbar Sports Rehabilitation is willing to direct bill to insurance companies on behalf of our clients, provided their insurance plan covers the services of a certified athletic therapist. Please call if you have any questions about our services and/or your insurance coverage.

Cancellation Policy: Please provide 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep your appointment. This allows us to re-book your appointment slot. Dunbar Sports Rehabilitation reserves the right to bill for missed appointments.

Sport Event First Aid Services
 

Scott has organized and provided first aid services for a number of sporting events, including the 2005 Canadian Midget National Basketball Championships, as well as the annual Summit Invitational Gymnastics Tournament from 2006 to 2010. Additionally he has acted as the Chief of Medical Services for a variety of cross country ski races held at the Canmore Nordic Centre, including the Alberta World Cup of Cross Country Skiing 2008 and 2010, the Western Canadian Championships 2009, and the Paralympic Championships 2010.

Additionally Scott has worked with a number of sports teams, providing pre-event first aid planning, assessment and immediate care of injuries occurring during the event, taping services, exercise advice, and emergency on-field care. He has experience working with varsity hockey, basketball and soccer teams, as well as high school rugby and football teams, and WHL and AHL hockey camps. In 2009/2010, Scott is pleased to be working with the Banff Hockey Academy and will also be back with the Banff High School Rugby Team. He will also be returning for his fourth season as the therapist for the Bow Valley Wolverines Football Team.
